The increasing cases of Coronavirus and the adverse effects of the spread of the deadly virus have hit even the terrorist organisations.
Alshabaab terrorist group majorly with operations in Somalia have announced that it will be halting its operations until the Coronavirus has been controlled.
Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen, more commonly known as al-Shabaab, is a terrorist, jihadist fundamentalist group based in East Africa. In 2012, it pledged allegiance to the militant Islamist organization Al-Qaeda.
This comes a few hours after another terrorist group, ISIS, announced that it would also be abandoning its terrorist operations to prevent contracting of Coronavirus by its members.
Most organisations in the World have halted their activities and resulted in working towards controlling the spread of COVID-19.
Services providing institutions have also asked their staff to work from home as a way of reducing the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
It is not clear what the halting of terrorist activities by the two group means to the current security situation.
Speculators have asked governments to treat the announcement with caution as it could be a mind game to ensure laxity on security aparatus allowing the terrorist to pounce fatally.
Kenyans have been asked to been keen and ensure general personal hygiene is maintained to prevent spread of COVID-19.
