On one evening while working as a watchman, a gentleman showed up at the gate. He had with him a laptop bag and a phone on his hand.
The gentleman introduced himself as Alvan and asked to find his way to Madam XXX’s house. But Madam had alerted Wafula just before the would be guest knocked the gate. Her instructions were that he shouldn’t be allowed to access past the gate.
Alvan Gatitu was running out of options. It was past curfew time. He walked across the road and tried making several calls.

Defeated, he walked back to the watchman and asked if there was a safe tree or building he could lay his head for the night.
Nilingoja tu amalize ku-charge simu halafu tukaondoka, kila mtu akaelekea zake. Lakini aliniitisha number za simu,” The watchman explains.
When compassionate Kenyans reached out to Alvan, the first person who crossed his mind was Mr. Kizito. He felt obligated to go back and say thank you.
When they met at a place along Ngong Rd, Alvan asked Mr. Kizito to suggest anything that would help boost his income and way of life.
Ninajua kuendesha piki piki”, he said.
They would later find their way to CAR & GENERAL for a brand new motorcycle. He also got a number plate and a license for it. At the time of posting this update, the motorbike is already at Kizito’s home town in Navakholo Constituency, Kakamega County.
Mr. Gatitu has also assisted Mr. Kizito open a bank account and boosted it with cash for Mr. Kizito’s wife to also run a small business.
Mr. Kizito has since resigned from his work and left Nairobi this morning for his home town.
He is still in disbelief. He feels like he’s dreaming.
He asked when my friends and I had a meeting with him yesterday.
He says thank you to all who supported Alvan Love because that’s how the kindness extended to him. He’s all grateful to Alvan for the pleasant sacrifice. And he promises to pass it on in his home area.
Tenda wema, nenda zako.
