Kiambu county Women Representative, Gathoni wa Muchomba has disputed a report ranking her as the worst performing Women Rep in Kenya.
The report which was released by survey experts, Infotrack, ranked the Kiambu female legislator at position 47/47. Her counterparts, Gladys Wanga and Rosa Mbuyu were ranked as the best performers.
Speaking to a radio host on Tuesday morning, Gathoni accused the archtects of the report of being biased against those legislators who support the president’s agenda.
“I am very angry with the report. Only those MPs who support president Uhuru Kenyatta were ranked as poor performers”, said Gathoni.
Her statement is a sharp contrast with the reality since the female MPs who topped the list are president Kenyatta’s former foes who have now turned to be his staunch defenders inside and outside parliament.
Sabina Chege who is seen as president Kenyatta’s ally in Murang’a was ranked as the best performing Women Rep in Mt Kenya region.
Gathoni wa Muchomba has defended herself claiming that she was ranked wrongly since she is one of the most active MPs in parliament. She also claimed to be very active outside parliament with several social programs under her leadership.
In the recent past she has been on the receiving end after she led a group of Women in Kiambu in a demonstration to demand respect to Mama Ngina Kenyatta after she was allegedly insulted by controversial MPs, Johanna Ngeno and Oscar Sudi.
