In the past five days, Kenyans have been mourning the demise of Bomet governor H.E Joyce Laboso.
Joyce Laboso succumbed to cancer while still undergoing treatment at the Nairobi hospital.
During the burial ceremony which was aired live by many media outlets, Kenyans were awed by the tribute of Mr Edwin Abonyo, the husband to the late Governor Laboso.
In his tribute, Abonyo heaped praises on the late wife as an honest and straight forward leader.
Abonyo further went ahead to recognise those who had played key roles in taking care of late Laboso during her sickness.
He thanked the Baringo senator Gedion Moi for giving them a chopper to facilitate movement during the burial preparations. The emotional Abonyo, showered the deputy president and president Uhuru with gratitude.
“William is a man with ‘utu’. If I start talking about what he has done for us, i would breakdown in tears”, said Abonyo in reference to Dr William Ruto.
In a detailed tribute, Abonyo narrated to mourners how the two would call even at odd hours just to encourage him and the family.
As for the former prime minister Abonyo only thanked him for attending the burial.
” Ndugu Raila, thank you for coming”, Abonyo said in reference to Raila Odinga.
This was quite embarrassing given that Raila had spent his time to visit the ailing Governor in London.
Raila, however eulogized the late governor as a patriot and as a development champion.
