The more you try to humiliate Ruto, the more you make his stronger- Miguna Miguna advises Uhuru

Exiled lawyer and author Miguna Miguna has said Deputy President William Ruto is only being hardened and strengthened by his political tormentors.

Miguna who has been at loggerheads with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration since late 2017, claimed the frustrations Ruto was undergoing courtesy of his boss would play to his advantage in future.

The Peeling Back the Mask author argued many politicians who have undergone the kind of treatment Ruto was facing have risen to a formidable and lethal political force that has moved masses and shaken the state.

He cited the example of ODM leader Raila Odinga who was arrested, detained and frustrated by late president Daniel Moi’s regime but later turned out to be a force to reckon.

Miguna also shared a brief history of retired president Mwai Kibaki who was too humiliated by Moi while serving as his deputy, he would later beat Moi’s candidate in 2002 to become the head of state.

“Moi turned a cowardly and incoherent Raila Odinga from a struggling welder at the to a national figure by detaining him. Kibaki transformed Raila from a disgruntled KANU Orphan into a formidable opponent by betraying him. Uhuru Kenyatta is building Ruto by betraying him,” he said via his Twitter.

The relationship between Uhuru and Ruto has been deteriorating each day raising concerns among Kenyans as to whether the two erstwhile political buddies converse at a personal level.

Since the president’s move to bring on board Opposition leader Raila Odinga, the DP has been defiant and has even vowed to stop the Building Bridges (BBI) report which was initiated by Uhuru and Raila with a view of uniting Kenyans.

Ruto has also been launching scathing attacks on a section of Cabinet Secretaries and other state officers whom he accused of undermining his office.

He recently accused the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti of being mobilised into a political arsenal with the sole purpose of soiling the reputation of his office and even eliminate him.

He encountered one of most the embarrassing moments when security officers locked him out of his Mombasa residence in January

The humiliation came just days after he was reportedly denied clearance to fly straight to Mombasa from Botswana to meet the president.
