Joyce Wa Mama is a Kenyan kikuyu secular Musician. Some of her songs are ‘Wari Wakwa’, ‘Zurura Dada’, ‘Menya Wari Wakwa’ among others.
Joyce wa Mama has taken the Kikuyu benga music by storm since her entry to the music industry ten years ago. The soft-spoken lady has continued to enjoy a growing fan base with the release of hit after hit.
The latest ‘wendo wi cama’ (love is sweet) collabo with Samidoh has been a hit trending at number one on Youtube. Her other popular songs are ‘Wendo waku ndituragia’ and ‘wari wakwa’.
She acknowledges Wa Kabera’s role in her career after she sang as a back-up singer in her band before joining John Njagi. She refutes claims that she had been married to John Njagi, adding that their relationship was only in music that they did together.

Joyce Wa Mama has, however, denied her popular songs bashing men target Gukena FM sports presenter Munyeki Sonko the Second, who is her baby daddy. The two met when Munyeki was a radio presenter at KBC and Joyce was starting off her music career.Together, they sired a boy now seven years old, and Wa Mama says they are in good terms with the presenter.
“After seven months pregnant is when she came back,” he said. “The next thing that followed was a song bashing me called ‘Wajogothaga Niki’ (Why did you seduce me and leave me when I got pregnant?). That song was directed at me.”
Both admit that their love died, but say they are still the best of friends. Also, they do not co-parent.
